Since its inception in 1979, the Gulf Economics Journal has published theoretical and empirical articles covering the full scope of the Gulf economy. More specifically, the editors encourage the submission of high-quality research papers for which the journal accepts contributions on a wide range of topics: analyses of specific problems or challenges facing the Arabian Gulf region; assessments of economic and social policies or programs implemented within or related to the Arabian Gulf; economic growth in the Gulf States, Gulf economic fluctuations, the effects of monetary and fiscal policy in the Arabian Gulf, political aspects of the Gulf macroeconomics, the Gulf exchange rate, and Gulf macroeconomic forecasting .The entries undergo a preliminary examination by the editor and, if they are of sufficient merit, they are subject to anonymous double peer review by three of the arbitrators.
