الملخص
المستخلص يتناول البحث أهمية السياحة بوصفها صناعة استراتيجية تسهم في تحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، ولم تعد تقتصر على كونها نشاطاً ترفيهياً فقط. ويركز البحث على واقع القطاع السياحي في العراق وما واجهه من تحديات متعددة، كضعف التخطيط والسياسات الحكومية، والحروب، والحصار الاقتصادي، وتدهور البنية التحتية، مما أدى إلى تراجع النشاط السياحي رغم امتلاك العراق مقومات سياحية وأثرية ودينية كبيرة. ويهدف البحث إلى تحليل استراتيجيات تطوير السياحة المستدامة في العراق، وبيان دورها في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية، مع الكشف عن أهم الفرص المتاحة والمعوقات التي تحد من تطور القطاع السياحي. واعتمد البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال دراسة واقع السياحة في العراق وتحليل الإمكانيات السياحية المتاحة والتحديات التي تواجه القطاع، فضلاً عن استعراض الرؤى المستقبلية للتنمية السياحية المستدامة.وتوصل البحث إلى مجموعة من الاستنتاجات، أهمها امتلاك العراق مقومات سياحية متنوعة تؤهله ليكون من الدول الجاذبة للسياحة. أما أهم التوصيات فتمثلت في وضع استراتيجية وطنية شاملة لتنمية السياحة المستدامة في العراق
